What if we all stopped seeking?

There’s a lot of talk out there about “manifesting” — and especially in the last decade or so since The Secret was published (but of course way before that too…..Napoleon Hill, la la la….)  And I myself have taught classes on manifestation…..and hey, right now I’m listening to a fabulous book called The Power of the Subconscious Mind by Dr. Joseph Murphy.

And I’ve had plenty of experiences where I think something and then it happens.

But today I want to talk about the shadow side of manifestation:  SEEKING.  Constant seeking.

It’s pretty simple isn’t it?  If we are seeking, we aren’t present with what is.  We may not even be AWARE of what we have, or what we are experiencing because the focus is on the opposite.

If we are seeking, there is something missing.

If we are seeking, there is something we want that we don’t have.

If we are seeking, there’s another experience (or fill in the blank) that we don’t perceive we have.

Is any of this true? Is there really something missing? Is there truly something better? Are we really not already abundant?

Is it true that something ELSE should be happening right now other than what IS happening?  I don’t think so.

I continue to believe that the pandemic is a deep and strong invitation to slow down and become more conscious.

It’s one of our greatest teachers right now:  SLOW down, STAY (put), RELAX (or learn to in the face of anxiety/fear/doubt)  — and all of these lessons bring me to the invitation to BE and not seek.

Seeking brings me out of the moment and has me wishing for or yearning for something else other than exactly what I have/do/experience

right. this. very. moment

(even as I feel my chilly fingers on each key of my keyboard.)

I’m really curious what would be different for you if you chose not to seek. What does it bring to you Right Now?
